random comic!

thistle salad news

mostly, though, the news ends up on the blog.

5/25/08 - I will be out of town from June 14 - 21 and not updating.

2/25/08 - I have overcommitted myself - thing is, I'm going to be (possibly) (probably) picking up some overtime at work, and I have committed to two different creative projects for May and April. So, I don't know where this leaves the comic, but it's not good. Also, I will be out of town from April 1 - May 11 and not updating.

8/25/07 - The big cross country move! see you on the other side!

1/19/07 - maps

1/1/07 - So, my New Year's resolution for the site (besides hitting 600 in nine months this time) is to finish up the anna bloom and other people's sins storylines sometime this year to make way for what comes after; a murder of men and the broken thread respectively.

10/27/06 - added a NaNo Resources page- very, very basic, though.

10/8/06 - just recovering from the 24 Hour Comics challenge. There's a link to mine on the art page (only the first few pages for the moment...). Also, NaNo's only three weeks away!

7/5/06 - New computer! New debts! Same old time-budgeting problems! It's JulyWriMo, too. I don't even know. New laptop's pretty sweet, though.

5/27/06 - My computer died and I'm going out of town and whine whine whine whine whine. Getting a new computer as soon as possible, which isn't soon enough. And I'll be writing a novel in July, so I don't even want to speculate about when I'll be back on schedule.

2/24/06 - The transcribing is done. The next thing is that I will be working on a NaNo in March which may or may not effect the posting schedule. Also- I will be taking some time off during March, but I don't know what the dates for that are yet.

2/14/06 - About a hundred transcriptions down, three hundred to go! I have started putting random buttons up all over the site, as well as doing some general formatting and fixing other links that I should have done ages ago. The random button will only take you to pages that have been already transcribed, so the more transcriptions are done, the larger the pool. Hopefully I'll have the links all done by Friday. Certainly by Monday. It's a good thing I don't have a life, I don't have time for all the things my site needs me to do for it as it is. :P

2/04/06 - I have signed my webcomic up for OhNoRobot. If you would like to help with transcriptions, it is very easy- first, you find a comic that hasn't already been transcribed, then you hit the "transcription button" and follow the directions that will appear. The buttons are at the bottom of every comic page (well, except they won't appear on comics that have already been transcribed) under the bottom row of navigation buttons, between the bottom green ribbon and the pink one. Thank you thank you!

12/17/05 - Okay, Christmas Incommunicado, you know the deal. Anyway, I'll be out of town for a week, Wednesday the 21 through Wednesday the 28th. I'm trying to get caught up... hopefully I'll get some work done while I am out there, so I'll have something to post when I get back.

12/04/05 - Once again, getting ahead of myself, I've added another webcomic to my webcomic. Anyway, it's not going to be updated on any sort of schedule, probably. I was thinking once a month, but maybe more if I get really excited about it...

10/30/05 - Well, it's November again and I am, despite the best of intentions, entirely unprepared. (Damn you, X-Men Legends! ) So *ahem* I have no idea whether there will be any comics to post next week. Or the week after that. It depends. But, since many of you, my readers, at least those of you who I know personally, are participating in NaNoWriMo as well, you should sympathize with my plight. And you should be working on your novel, anyway, not checking the webcomic for updates. Unless you're looking for the updates of my wordcount. Which I'll be blogging, as well. Also, working on updating some art-type features, but I probably won't post them until December (it's complicated).

09/16/05- I've been reorganizing the art page, added some new features, as if that's more important than getting content together. The big news is, of course, NaNoWriMo is six weeks away, and in that six weeks, I need to get three extra weeks of posts together- so that I don't spend November working on both the comic and the novel. And, seriously, I hope we get the damn wireless working by then. NaNo's not the same without complaining on the forums about it.

08/12/05- When I said posts would be 'on schedule' I really meant 'erratically.' Taking a long weekend away from home next weekend (August 26 and abouts), and trying to cram in a week's worth of posts between then and now. Maybe in September I'll get back to some kind of routine. Maybe someday.

08/08/05- Back in business, sort of. Not that the wireless situation is any better, but I found a way back onto the internet nevertheless. Yay me! Not that this helps the larger issues, but it will keep my comic posting.

08/04/05- My wireless card died and the home network crashed, so I am mostly stranded. Took the opportunity, though, to fix a number of bad links, mostly of the 'previous episode' 'next episode' variety.

06/24/05- While weighing the pros and cons of advertising the site, I actually managed to revamp the cast page , trying not to say too much or too little. Also a little thing called JulNoWriMo will be distracting me next month, but hopefully it won't interfer with my posting schedule. I'm not going to make an actual decision about advertising until August, if then. And I'm going to be tracking my JulNo progress and nonsense on my blog as well as the usual places on the site. I'm thinking maybe I'll go on a tri-annual NaNo schedule, the big one in November, one in March, and one in July.

04/30/05- I will be out of town May 2 - 10 and not posting.

03/14/05- some of my old ViOliVia! essays are posted on the writing page at the very bottom- not sure what that has to do with anything, but I guess I thought enough of them to post them once, why not do it again? Anyway, if you want to see how truly obsessive I can get about comics, take a look. Also, there are a couple of collage art type things I did for the same site posted on this sort of hidden art page.

10/21/04- Pre-NaNoWriMo preparations begin... I'm going to see how much work on the site I can do in the next week and a half- so I'll maybe have something to post while simultaneously working like a maniac on my novel. But posting will likely be erratic- the novel takes priority. I have added some (very basic) novel tracking on the site; at the bottom of the home page, the writing page and in the "me" column on the about page. Which is also where you can find the only working email address on the site. sigh.

09/30/04- I will be out of town October 6-17 and not posting. I'm going to (hopefully!) get my email working before NaNoWriMo starts. And I have put together summaries for my previous NaNoNovels.

05/10/04- Website Redesign! Hopefully this will make the site easier to browse. Now if only I could think of a logical way to lay out the contents page...
